Arrived this afternoon, and yes, I was skipping like a little school boy all the way to my office to set it up. One very important thing to note is that Natural Point has apparently stopped sending a CD with software and manuals, preferring you instead download the latest software and such. For those of you just getting back to your TIR 4, be sure to download and install the latest TIR software v. 5.0.

I never used the old ones to make a comparison, but this version offers the user a whole range of options for customizing the tracking. Understanding about the Standby mode was a priceless bit of advice; THANKS! To be honest, it worked for me right out of the box.

After starting the TIR program, centering and looking at my little 3D head for several minutes for grins, I started up FSX and was flying and tracking beautifully. There are certainly adjustments I want to make in tracking speed past about 30 degrees, but otherwise it did everything I wanted of it.

Very pleased, and it was a lot cheaper than my Vuzix VR920 glasses!

After hearing that a work mate was selling his TrackIR Pro (which he used for World War II Online) for only £30 I nearly took his arm off!

Even when I used it for the first time I was in love with it and I NEVER fly without it now. In fact in cases where I have tried using FSX without it I still find myself moving my head in an attempt to look around the cabin!

If you have one then use it, not everyone is totally 'at one' with it on their first go but stick with it! You won't regret it!

Well . . . I bought TIR many months ago and soon was off-put by the constant "fidgeting" that seemed to be required of me. I spent most of my time fiddling with TIR, rather than flying, and soon un=installed the thing and it now sits on a shelf.

But perhaps you've convinced me to give 'er another go. You're the second "enthusiast" I've encountered in the past couple of weeks, and both of you have the same zeal, so I think I'll use that as incentive.

Thanks for the item. I'll look forward to more, if you're so-inclined.
